Culpeper County High School Graduation
Culpeper County High School will hold graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2013 at 9am on Saturday, June 1st. Graduation is scheduled to be held on Broman Field(the CCHS Football Field). The rain location will be the Culpeper Middle School gymnasium.
Please remember that parking at the high school is extremely limited and will be restricted to stae issued handicap tags, faculty, one spot per graduate, and press.
Shuttle buses will begin operating at 7am. Satellite parking will be available at the following locations:
Dominion Skating Center
Floyd T. Binns Middle School
Sycamore Park Elem. School
Shuttle drop off will be in front of the Annex.
Gates will open at 7:30am. Bleacher and Grandstand seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Following the CCHS commencement exercises a return shuttle will be available for up to two hours, riders may catch shuttles returning to satellite parking in front of the middle school gym.
Eastern View High School Graduation
Eastern View High School will hold graduation ceremonies for the class of 2013 at 7pm Friday, May 31st. Graduation is scheduled to be held in Cyclone Stadium. Students need to report to the auditorium by 5pm.
Shuttle buses will be available to transport those attending the ceremony from Parks and Recreation lots adjoining EVHS Stadium.
The gates will open at 5:30pm. Bleacher and Grandstand seating will be on a first-come, first served basis and no tickets are necessary. Field seating is available with tickets only.
Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Dept. Annual Carnival
The Carnival will be held May 22nd-25th at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Rt. 29th South. Carnival starts each night at 6pm with a Saturday matinee from 1-5pm.
The Parade will be held Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30p starting at Piedmont and Main St. Line-up will begin at 5:30pm. There will be some street closures as early as 4:15pm.
Relay for Life of Orange County
The 5th Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Orange will be held on Saturday, June 1st at the Orange County High School Track. The Survivor Luncheon will begin at 1:00 pm in the high school cafeteria and will be followed by the opening ceremony at 3:00 pm. The luminaria ceremony will begin shortly after 9:00 pm and the closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 6:00am. Lots of fun and entertainment for the whole family!! 4-H Cloverbud Day Camp
4-H Cloverbud Day Camp registration is going on now. Camp Red Arrow is located in Stevensburg and will run daily from July 23rd thru July 26th. The camp is for ages 5-8 is $90 per child. It's Summer fun in Louisa with the Louisa County Parks and Recreation and Tourism with It's Finally Friday. Celebrate the end of the work week with this special concert series. The Final Friday in May, June and July!6-9pm at Walkton Park, Corner of 6th St. and Louisa Ave. in Mineral. Bring the kids for the Moon Bouce, grab a bite to eat with the many food vendors and for those 21 and older, the beer and wine garden sponsored by the Mineral Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Brenda Curlee, “the Job Coach”, continues to offer individual consultations, providing advice and assistance with resumes, interviewing, and networking skills. Operation First Response Dollar Challenge
Operation First Response supports our nation’s Wounded Warriors and their families with personal and financial needs, from the onset of injury, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from military life into the civilian world. Established in Fauquier County in 2004, headquarters are now located in Culpeper County. Fauquier County Board of Supervisors Lee Sherbeyn initiated the Dollar Campaign Challenge in his county and is now challenging surrounding counties. Operation First Response is asking every resident from each county in the area and around the state to give $1 to serve the needs of Americas finest as they return home with injuries.
